In the pursuit of building his perfect team it looks like Brendan Rodgers is interested in Irish midfielder Conor Hourihane.

The Barnsley midfielder who is not shy of a few goals is out of contract at the end of this season and would be able to sign a pre-contract in January with any club.

The Celtic manager has been happy with his team’s progress but was quick to admit they’re not anywhere near where he wants them to be.

Looking at a player such as Conor shows Rodgers awareness of working in the market Celtic are in but knows there are gems to be found in the Championship.

The 25-year-old likes a goal from midfield and Rodgers is very keen to have goals running freely throughout his side.
