Outgoing Celtic Chief executive Peter Lawwell has been subject to an alleged arson attack overnight.
The Daily Record report a petrol bomb device was aimed at Peter Lawwell’s car but the fire quickly spread to his home.
The report states Peter and his family were evacuated from the property and taken to safety.
Thankfully, there doesn’t seem to be any casualties from the incident but it would have been a traumatising event for the family in their home.
Peter is just a month away from stepping down at Celtic and handing the keys to Dominic McKay who’s currently shadowing him. The CEO bowing out after seventeen years in charge of Celtic.
There’s no word yet on a motive or if the Police have apprehended any of the perpetrators.
We can only hope that whoever did this will be brought to justice.
We hope the Lawwell family aren’t too shaken by the incident.
