ANGE POSTECOGLOU is linked with most jobs down south when they become available these days. It’s why when Leeds parted ways with Jesse Marsch on Monday of this week, we knew what would be coming next.
Just as night follows day, Ange’s name pops up in the conversation. There are so many tabloids running with the headline about Ange without really going into depth about where the link is coming from.
We did some digging, and away from the usual bookies nonsense, there seems to be just one reporter claiming Leeds’ interest in the Celtic manager.

Tim Thornton was outside Elland Road on Tuesday morning, claiming several managers are being considered for the role. However, he made it clear no official approach had been made for anyone.
He said: “There are a number of names on the radar for Leeds United. Andoni Iraola, the Rayo Vallecano manager, has been mentioned.
“Carlos Corberan is another. He’s a very familiar name to Leeds fans, of course, having worked here, coaching the Under-21s and then being promoted to work with Marcelo Bielsa with the first team. He’s done a terrific job at West Brom and, prior to that, with Huddersfield Town.
“Ange Postecoglou at Celtic is another name that Leeds have on their radar, but I would stress that Leeds are also looking at other potential candidates, and they haven’t made an approach yet for anyone.
“So there is no suggestion that they’re far down the path with appointing a new manager, but they are working through a list of potential candidates.”
Tim clearly has sources within Elland Road. He didn’t seem too over the top when he mentioned aNge’s name and put many names before the Australian’s.
CeltsArehere has been running for over 12 years, and in that time, we’ve learned never to back any one scenario. We were one of the first outlets to report Brendan Rodgers had decided to pull a fast one and leave for Leicester. Covering it at the time, with our jaws on the floor, we couldn’t believe what we were having to report.
Similarly, when Kieran Tierney made his way to Arsenal, we were confident he wouldn’t head down to London at the first sign of a big deal. We were so wrong!
While we won’t put it out there that Ange Postecoglou is staying put, we would be shocked to see him leave two-thirds into the season with so much to play for. Fan media access has evolved since Brendan Rodgers and even Kieran Tierney’s departure. We have been in the presence of Ange on many occasions since he joined as Celtic manager, and he doesn’t give off the impression he’s the type of man to cut and run.
There will be a time when Ange and Celtic go their separate ways, but we’re hoping that’s much further down the line.
