Kasper Schmeichel is a Danish goalkeeper who joined Celtic FC in July 2024 from Anderlecht. Born in Copenhagen, he made his Celtic debut at Celtic Park in a 4–0 win over Kilmarnock, keeping a clean sheet
Before arriving at Celtic F.C., Schmeichel enjoyed a decorated career with Leicester City, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield, while also featuring for Man City, Nice and Anderlecht.
A vastly experienced international with over 100 caps for Denmark, he brings leadership and top-level pedigree to Brendan Rodgers’ side as Celtic chase domestic and European success.
On his arrival at Paradise, Kasper Schmeichel had already amassed 105 caps for Denmark after making his debut in a friendly match against Macedonia in February 2013. He captained his country in their four games at the 2024 European Championship and is closing in on his father’s impressive cap haul, with Peter Schmeichel making a total of 129 caps for Denmark.
