CELTIC have been brilliant this season, scoring from set pieces in each of their first three games of the season.
It’s unusual for Celtic fans to see the team use set pieces to their benefit. When Champions League football comes around, free kicks and corners could lead to big chances for the team, and being clinical with them could be the difference in playing European football after Christmas.
Many put the improvement of set plays down to new coach Harry Kewell; however, Matt O’Rilye has praised Gavin Strachan for his work at Lennoxtown; maybe his laptop has come in handy after all!
Speaking to Celtic TV, the on-form midfielder praised the Celtic coach, saying;
“Gavin Strachan specifically. It’s quite a lot of work they are putting me and a few others on the training ground to try and tighten up on a few things, and I think that’s shown this season.
“It’s something we’re going to try to develop on the back of last season because we’d like to score a few more [set pieces].”
Celtic Have Taken it to a Whole New Level.
Celtic have been fantastic this season at the little things, like set pieces, different types of passing, and their efficiency in attack. The coaches have had a full pre-season with the bhoys, and the benefits are shining through. The team looks even better than last season, and on the form, they’re showing just now, it’s going to take some performance to defeat the Celtic side.
Many said Ange’s second season was the best, and on the early signs, they’re 100% correct.
