Christopher Jullien Opens Up About Celtic Injury Hell

CHRIS JULLIEN has overcome the injury which seen him sidelined for over fourteen months. While playing Dundee United, the French defender rattled his knee against the post shattering it.

Since his return, he’s struggled for minutes, with the only competitive minutes coming against Raith Rovers in the cup. Stephen Welsh seems to be above the Frenchman, but with Carter-Vickers and Starfelt’s solid performances at the back, there’s no reason to break the partnership.

The 29-year-old is about to enter the last year on his contract at Celtic; the club may be tempted to cash in on the central defender before losing him on a free, with no game time in the near future looking likely.

Speaking at the JD meet and greet, as quoted by SunSport, the defender stated;

“I didn’t feel too good because I couldn’t see the end of it.

“In total, it was one year and a half.

“It was really long and I definitely wouldn’t wish it on anyone in football because when you are playing you sometimes don’t pick up

“But when it happens you just have to be strong mentally and to keep looking forward.

“You just want to come back, to kick the ball, and to enjoy your life and that’s what I’m trying to do again.”

The player was once one of the first names on the team sheets; however, his injury changed that. From shouts of being a potential captain to being tipped to leave the club. Is Ange holding him back until next season or is he unsure Chris can play in his system?
