He was on the receiving end of abuse as he made his way back to the studio only to be positioned between Gordon Strachan, Chris Sutton and Ange Postecoglou, who all had their fun with the former Ibrox man.

Ally McCoist humorously admitted on TalkSPORT breakfast with Alan Brazil that he had tosit there and take it when Postecoglou jokingly asked if he was offering a lift back to Celtic Park after the match.

The former Rangers hero revealed that he had to walk through the Celtic end and was met with a chorus of jeers and abuse.

He said:

“Can you imagine my journey down from the commentary booth? I had to go through the Celtic fans, I got absolute dog’s abuse.

“You wouldn’t have seen it, but at the end of the game i am positioned right between big Ange and Gordon (Strachan) and Sutton as well to make matters worse.

“There could not have been a worse position in Glasgow than I was at the end of that game, and I had to sit there and take it. You have to go down and take your medicine.”
