CELTIC DEFENDER Carl Starfelt was absolutely magnificent as Celtic saw out their Glasgow rivals to lift the Scottish League Cup on Sunday.

He dealt with everything that was thrown at him, and lost nothing in the air. He stepped out of defence on a couple of occasions and looked to have some confidence in his abilities.
The first goal all stemmed from Starfelt’s interception, stepping forward from the defensive line to win it back before moving it forward.
He shrugged off his Hampden demons and put in a superb performance.
Reflecting on the match, on the Celtic View Podcast, Starfelt admitted the win was the “best” of his career and was thrilled that his family could watch on in the stands.
He said:
“It’s very hard to describe. It was an amazing feeling, I think it was probably for myself it was one of the best wins in terms of feeling when they blew the whistle after the game. Like you say, it’s a derby, a trophy, and my family was there which was really nice for me to enjoy the moment with them afterwards.
“I think for me, it was absolutely up there with one of the best wins I’ve had. It was huge, it was hard to describe the feeling but it was pure happiness.”
He was in with a shout for the man of the match performance had it not been his mistake towards the closing stages of the match. Luckily, it was not a costly one.
He’s been a superb signing for Celtic, and some clubs are sniffing around the player ahead of the summer transfer window.
