‘You’ve Thrown Him Under the Bus’ – Chris Sutton’s Scathing Attack on Brendan Rodgers

CHRIS SUTON has gone on a rather astonishing tirade about the Celtic manager after he voiced his displeasure at transfers.

The Englishman who believes Celtic shouldn’t be playing the blame game seems to be conducting one of his own for his Daily Record column.

Sutton believes Celtic have let The Rangers into a title race which should have been shown up – just two games in.

The former Celtic striker also bemoans the new LED lights the club have installed. The correlation between upgraded lights and transfer budgets is a flimsy argument at best but it gives a nice little headline.

However, his attack on Brendan Rodgers for stating the club have not done enough to secure transfers is quite damning.

He wrote: Rodgers has launched Lawwell under the bus. He hammered Lawwell before the AEK first leg and has kept battering away with every public statement since. You can’t tell me the Hoops chief won’t be seething with the blame laid squarely at his door. The trust between the two has gone and I can’t see how it can be repaired.

There has to be friction behind the scenes, of course there does, but the apocalyptic nature of the way Chris keeps going on and on about it to fill air time at the moment is only to serve himself.

Brendan Rodgers has already stated his position – by the end of the season we will come back to this piece and see where we are.
