Young Celtic midfielder Scott Robertson is looking to bring the winning mentality he was brought up with at the Hoops to loan side, Crewe Alexandra.
The 20-year old made his debut for his new side on Tuesday evening, as they kick-started their Papa John’s Trophy campaign with a 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury Town.

Speaking to the Crewe official website, Robertson is looking to bring a winning mentality to the League One side that he has learned from a young age at Celtic.
“I actually thought I was a bit sloppy with my passing early on. I am normally cleaner with my passing, and that is one of my strengths, but I know that will come with the more games I get. It was just to be back out and playing.
“It was nice to start with a win and a clean sheet, and that will help build some confidence that we can take into our schedule of games.
“I spoke to the manager, and he wants me to get on the ball and pass the ball. He wants me to add goals to my game, and I know I need to improve that side of things, but as a midfielder, that is all you can ask. I am sure the fact that Crewe pass the ball with only suit.
“It has been a great upbringing at Celtic, and it is all about winning and being successful at a club of that size. I want to bring that winning mentality with me onto the pitch and play as many games as I can.
He added: “It was a bit stop, start for me last season, so hopefully I can come here and get a more regular spot and get my games up.”
Robertson spent last season out on loan in the same division with both Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers, which caught the eye of Crewe boss David Artell.
He has also featured for Ange Postecoglou’s side during pre-season and made the bench for several Europa League ties.
So going and getting more first-team minutes down south will be valuable for his development as a player.
There is no better example of doing that than Callum McGregor, who spent time with Notts County and has now, of course, gone on to become the Hoops club captain.
Fingers crossed, the young midfielder can have a good spell with Crewe and come back a better-developed player.
