‘You Should Be Embarrassed’ – Sutton Calls Out Former Celtic Star

CHRIS SUTTON has told Gary Caldwell he should be ‘Embarrassed’ by his comments in the aftermath of his former teammate being struck by a coin from the stands at Tynecastle.

Neil Lennon was hit by a pound coin by a Hearts fan late in the game seeing the former Celtic boss receiving treatment on the sideline.

Gary Caldwell spoke after the game on BBC Sportsound that it was terrible to see but Neil Lennon brings this stuff on himself at times.

This is a narrative that is pushed by the apologists and the people who dislike Neil Lennon – it’s poor to see Gary piling on top of that with his comment.

Chris Sutton wasn’t impressed one bit, even if the former Celtic defender half-heartedly apologised on social media afterwards.

“He is the manager of Partick Thistle,” Sutton told Record Sport. “So what happens if his team score a last-minute winner way from home. Does he gets caught up in the moment and celebrates in front of home fans and gets a coin in the face for his troubles?

“Will he simply hold his hands up and say he was asking for it?

“Do me a favour. Caldwell should be embarrassed by his comments and with the swift apology I suspect he is.
