‘They wouldn’t dare’ – Ange Postecoglou’s Outstanding Response to Spurs Question

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear he’s had zero talks with agents or about a move away from Celtic ahead of the Scottish Cup final.

The Celtic manager was in front of the media on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s showpiece final and the topic about Tottenham’s interest in him inevitably came up.

When probed and pushed on if there had been any initial discussions with his agent or anyone else, Ange Postecoglou made it clear his focus is on Celtic and while that might be hard for some to understand, he wants to go win the treble.

Speaking to Football Scotland the Australian said: “They know better than to ask me anything this week mate. They know me very well. They wouldn’t dare ask me about anything.

“No (discussions about Spurs). I know you find that surprising. That’s hard for you to understand because you are not me.

“You are not in my skin, you don’t live and breathe this job that I have and what Saturday means to me, these players, this football club. There is nothing more important – apart from my family obviously – than that game.

“It’s not just about me. This club is planning for next year, planning to bring players in. There is a full range of conversations going on, but my focus is on making sure we win a game of football which is very, very important to us.”

Ange has always been a man of integrity that’s always shot straight from the hip with everything since the day he was brought to Celtic.

There’s no reason to doubt what he’s saying now. However, it doesn’t stop conversations happening after the dust is settled on Saturday night.

Win or lose, if there’s a conversation to be had between Ange, Celtic and Tottenham, that’s when it will happen.

The people claiming to no more about what’s going on are doing guess work and clearly don’t know how Ange operates.
