Work Permit Holding Up Celtic Move – Reports

The news broke only a few days ago that Celtic look set to sign Israelian Hatem Abd Elhamed. Since then things have gone a bit quiet on the player despite all news sources stating it was a done deal.

The Sun now believes the move is been held up in lieu of a work permit been granted to the player. The paper also claims that the player is so eager for a move to Paradise that he has sought help from Israel boss Andreas Herzog and sports director Willi Rotensteiner. Both parties are said to have written a letter of support to the SFA on the defender’s behalf.

Celtic have apparently secured the player for a fee thought to be in the region of 2m and the player has been offered a 4-year contract.

Celtic Football Club is working hard to get players in, especially defenders as the club has already started battling for Champions League qualification.

Hatem Abd Elhamed is said to be a versatile defender who can play right-back or a central position.
