Celtic fans are awaiting the arrival of Eddie Howe. It’s been over six weeks since the Englishman was tipped as the favourite for the Hoops job.
The information that’s dripped out since has pointed to an Eddie Howe appointment and we expect this to happen.
Because the acquisition and announcement have been so slow, we’re already looking past the initial confirmation and looking at why Eddie Howe is the right man for the job.
Jonathan Woodgate has taken temporary charge of the Bournemouth side in the latter part of the season and he gives us a glimpse into Eddie’s set up at the club.
Howe, along with his own team built the infrastructure currently in place at the promotion chasing club and Woodgate’s admission about how things are run is extremely encouraging.
Talking about the players and the set up, Woodgate told the Bournemouth Echo: “They have been really well-drilled. Garvan Stewart runs the shop up there, who has been really good for me. This club is just coming out of the Premier League but at Middlesbrough, I had two who were really good.
“When I got here there was one out of possession and one in possession, one for set-plays, one for goalkeepers, one who does the training sessions.
“Then there is the main one, Garv, who oversees it all. It is a fantastically well-run group – they work extremely hard.
“That benefits us. We do debriefs the day after a game, with the ball and without the ball, which is also exceptional and I’ve never had before.
“The lads who I worked with at Middlesbrough were very good but here, there’s more staff, so we can do more things.”
We’ve been doing our own homework on Eddie Howe and his philosophy should fit in very well at the club.
The manager creates a plan for every single player and works with them on an individual basis as well as a collective. Exciting times ahead.
