Reports on Tuesday night suggested Leeds United were attempting to hijack Celtic’s move to bring Brendan Rodgers back to the club, however, that has been rubbished by reporters close to the Yorkshire club. [Yorkshire Post]
The paper writes: ‘Reports of a last-ditch Leeds United attempt to hijack Brendan Rodgers’ expected Celtic return are wide of the mark.’
Leeds is looking for a new manager after they were relegated from the English Premier League last season. They brought in Sam Allarydce with four games to go in a desperate attempt to beat the drop, but they were too far gone.

Celtic have made moves this week to bring Rodgers back to the club he left in 2019 and barring a last minute change of heart, the deal is expected to go through.
We have no idea where the Daily Record got their story from on Tuesday night, but it appeared to be nonsense even before this report from Leeds. Maybe it’s wishful thinking?
Celtic have moved swiftly to replace Ange Postecoglou who only officially left the club eight days ago. The transition could be very easy for the club and Brendan who is currently checking the state of play on his backroom team.
