Why Rosenborg May Play Half a Team Against Celtic

ROSENBORG may have other things on their mind on Thursday night when Celtic come to town which could give Brendan Rodgers men the edge on the night.

The Norwegian Champions are set to take on Strømsgodset in the Norweigan Cup Final on Sunday in what is a showpiece event in Norwegian football.

While Celtic have their own Cup final on Saturday, it has been widely accepted in Norway that the Europa League is gone for Rosenborg this time around and they will not want to do anything to jeopardise their top team for the cup final.

With the Rosenborg players having their eyes on winning the Norwegian  Cup it could play right into Celtic’s hands who will not be thinking past Thursday night until it’s done.

Rosenborg are likely to rest some of their star players with the game so close.

The enormity of the cup final on Norway may be lost on people outside the country, but it’s a massive deal for Rosenborg to win it, and they will be prioritising that on the night.

Celtic will not rest players and will be doing all they can to get the three points before focussing on their own cup final.

The bhoys have a tremendous chance to put themselves in pole position to qualify.
