Celtic fans will once again get the chance to show that they ‘know the history’ with the next Celtic FC Foundation/Glasgow NE Foodbank Collection.
This will be before the SPFL match against Ross County, on Saturday 16th September. This time, though, the collection will be teaming up with The Invisibles, which is a voluntary organisation who help Glasgow’s homeless and Refugee’s, a charity to help welcome refugees to our city.
As well as the usual food items we’ve all donated in the past; they are looking for other things which will help make a difference to those displaced from the countries they love.
This should hopefully make them love Glasgow too! The list includes: Shampoo/Shower Gel, Notepads, Mens’ trainers, even some ‘Scottish’ items (some of our very own treats…maybe a wee nod to Leigh Griffith’s favourite Tunnock’s Tea Cakes?!)
Consider Brother Walfrid’s vision of why Celtic was founded, and we’re right to feel proud that his spirit lives on.
There will no doubt be more opportunities to give as we approach the festive season with the Green Brigade doing their bit in the run up to Christmas.
The Celtic Foundation works all year tirelessly to arrange events that bring people together as well as raise money for the less fortunate. It’s because of the Celtic fans that they continue to grow and help more and more people.
Forget about our world famous Champions League atmosphere and the results on the pitch – this kind of stuff makes Celtic fans among the best supporters in the world.
God Bless.
