Jamie Carragher has told a live online Q&A he’s supporting his mate Steven Gerrard with Rangers north of the border but admits as soon as Gerrard leaves Ibrox, he’ll go back to supporting Celtic.
Carragher and Gerrard are good mates and both had an affinity towards Celtic before Gerrard was offered the poisoned chalice he currently sips from.
Jamie is supporting his mate going into management but has made it clear Celtic is his team.
Asked the question, Celtic or Rangers? Here was Carragher’s reply, as cited by SunSport.
“Right now it’s Rangers because of Steven Gerrard but as soon as Steven leaves it’ll be Celtic.”
Jamie was also asked who he thought he best player in Scotland at this minute in time was and said he was ok to pick Edouard because Steven Gerrard would be in his bed as he answered the question.
“Edouard upfront, the Celtic striker. Stevie will be in bed, don’t worry about it.
“Morelos gets sent off too much”
Gerrard has tried and failed at two attempts to dethrone Celtic as not only champions but in all other competitions. Celtic won another treble in Gerrard’s first year while the bhoys were on course for another one this term before the shutdown.
It shouldn’t be too long before Carragher is a Celtic fan again.
