As a result of the win over Brondby, Celtic Women have made it into the final of Round 1 of Champions League qualifying. That match will take place this coming Saturday the 9th of September at 7 pm. Norwegian side Valerenga lay in wait at the same venue where the Ghirls tasted victory over Brondby.
Win over Valerenga and Fran Alonso’s side will make it into Round 2 of qualifying. There, they would play out a two-legged tie with one team for a place in the group stages of the prestigious Champions League.
The draw for Round 2 takes place next Friday, but first, a win over Valerenga needs to be secured. That is all that will be on Alonso and the players’ minds going into the weekend, and here’s hoping yet more history can be made.
