CELTIC hero Chris Sutton has called out Rangers coach Neil Banfield over his comments about Ange Postecoglou, saying that Michael Beale needs to ‘get his staff in check‘.

Ibrox coach, Neil Banfield, suggested Postecoglou‘s words were fueling Rangers‘ desire for revenge ahead of their Scottish Cup clash this Sunday.
The Celtic hero said Beale is already under enough pressure and that Banfield‘s comments may be an attempt to manufacture spirit in the Rangers team. He added that Banfield should have to reveal which of Postecoglou‘s comments he was referring to before making such a statement.
Joking about the managerial comparisons that Banfield had given Beale, who’s only been a manager for a season, Chris Sutton said on the Record Sport Podcast:
“Does anyone actually know what comments he is talking about? I think Michael Beale should keep some of his staff in check. This is the same guy who compared Beale to Nagelsmann and Pochettino.
“Beale is no doubt a talented coach, but going into management, that is a huge shout. He might go on to become one of the greatest managers the world has ever seen.
“But comments like that put him under unneccessary pressure. He’s under enough pressure as it is. Unless he comes out and says exactly what was said by Ange Postecoglou to upset them, it just looks like he’s trying to manufacture a bit of spirit in the Rangers team. I haven’t seen anything said that was that bad, or anything at all.”
It will be interesting to know what Banfield was referring to, with Postecoglou not making any obvious dig at the side, unlike his Ibrox counterpart.
