NEW SIGNING Moritz Jenz has promised Celtic fans that the side a ready to compete at Europe’s top stage as they prepare to fight for a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
It was a great draw for the Hoops, missing out on the group of death and the top teams that pot 2 had to offer. Making it out of Celtic’s group is doable and a realistic target for the side to set for themselves. Although, Ange Postecoglou will remind his players to take it one game at a time.
Celtic has got the right balance of glamour ties and winnable games, mixed in with some good away days for the fans. It’s the perfect draw.
Speaking to Celtic TV shortly after the draw, Moritz Jenz gave his reaction, saying;
“It’s a very interesting draw, getting drawn to the Champions League winners of last year, Real Madrid. We were hoping to get one of the big guys. It’s a very good group and we’re ready to compete.”
It’s going to be a test for the side, especially going up against the attack of Real Madrid and the goal threat of Benzema, who was the top scorer in the competition last year.
