Celtic fans have been hypercritical of Anthony Ralston. Some of the abuse has gone too far at times.
The defender was handed a new one-year extension to his deal simply because Celtic did not have the numbers.
Because he is the only right-back, the player has started every game for the Hoops so far. He started off slow but in the last three games, Anthony has been one of our top performers.
It’s a hard one, I’ve watched the defender take his chance so far and do very well. Two SPFL games two goals for the right-back – both fantastic finishes may I add.
We still 100% need another right-back in the door but is Ralston starting to turn heads and looking like a viable option or even back up to another defender this season?
Anthony is not stupid and will have seen the criticism about it from the support over the past six weeks. He looks like a man who’s using it as fuel to put in these performances.
I’ve often called the defender limited and I stand by that, I don’t think he’s the man you want when you’re playing high calibre opposition, but he’s doing himself proud and long may his good form continue.
