He signed in January but we’re yet to see Vakoun Bayo in full flight in a Celtic jersey with fitness and injury issues in the second half of last season.
The striker was brought in by Brendan Rodgers and Celtic with Kolo Toure recommending the frontman. Kolo and Bayo know each other very well and the ex-Celtic coach was pivotal in bringing the striker to the club.
However, Bayo admits, Kolo’s shock departure from the club along with Brendan Rodgers and the rest of his team affected him. He had been recommended by Kolo, signed by Brendan and with only five minutes of game time to his name they upped sticks and moved on in a midnight flitting.
Now sitting in pre-season with his teammates and new manager Neil Lennon, the player is ready to make an impact and the forward got on the scoresheet against Wiener SC at the weekend.
Speaking to RecordSport, Bayo admits the transition has been tough after Kolo’s exit. what’s more, the former Celtic coach has just abandoned him completely and not even spoke to Bayo since his move to Leicester.
