“We deserve that” – Rodgers Accepts Responsibility After Kilmarnock Draw

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has taken responsibility for his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Kyogo Furuhashi opened the scoring in the first-half, but David Watson cancelled it out late-on to secure a vital point for the visitors. It was a frustrating afternoon for everyone involved with the Hoops.

Gaffer Rodgers admitted after the game that his side’s performance was ‘poor’, but he also took responsibility for it. The boss spoke to CeltsAreHere after full-time: “Whatever comes our way today we deserve it”, he said.

“I’ve said it a number of times, we’ve played okay and got the results and that momentum was building.

”Our last performance against St. Mirren on a tricky pitch was a professional and good performance, but today it wasn’t that.”

Despite winning eight out of nine going into today’s game, Celtic prevailed to drop points against Killie.

One cannot refute the fact that it has been coming because, apart from the display against St. Mirren last week, performances have been sub-par.

Celtic are seemingly letting the league title slip away from them week-by-week, and fans are growingly becoming frustrated. They know the pot of gold that lies at the end of the season, but the Hoops don’t seem to want it as much as their city rivals.
