Watch: Yang Hyun-jun Sees Red Against Hearts

Celtic winger Yang Hyun-jun has been red carded against Hearts after an apparent high boot on Alex Cochrane.

Despite Yang initially receiving a yellow card for the challenge, referee Don Robertson was called to the VAR monitor to review it.

After the review, he decided to change his decision and give the South Korean winger a red card.

Yang will now miss a game through suspension, with the red card being the first of his career.

Given his performances against Motherwell and Dundee in recent games, which proved to be a revelation, it will be disappointing to have his momentum halted.

Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to see Yang return to the side, as it is clear that he did not intend to hurt Cochrane and it was merely a mistimed challenge.

With Celtic failing to name a consistent player off the right wing this season, the South Korean international has shown that he brings a different dynamic to Celtic’s play out wide.

His link-up play alongside Matt O’Riley and Alistair Johnston has been a real positive, and was particularly evident against Dundee midweek.
