Watch – The Outstanding Own Goal That Keeps Celtic Top

Celtic maintained their place at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Motherwell.

The game wasn’t without its talking points but perhaps the biggest one was the own goal to make it two nil to Celtic – putting the game beyond Motherwell.

Jeremy Frimpong strode forward, passing it to Callum McGregor in the middle of the park who picked out Edouard, with Johnny Hayes making the overlapping run an inch perfect pass from Eddy put Hayes in for a cross. Johnny’s cross was put in with a lot of pace and with the Motherwell defenders turned facing their own goal Richard Tait smashed it into his own net.

It was a cracking finish from the ‘Well player who would later be subbed off.

Motherwell did their best to make a game of it on the day and had their moments. They tried to press Celtic and hit on the break when they could. Overall Celtic deserved their win.
