Watch: Matt O’Riley’s Thunderous Strike Against St Mirren

Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley opened the scoring for the Hoops, with St. Mirren goalkeeper Zach Hemming unable to keep the ball out of the net.

An O’Riley header initially found Kyogo Furuhashi in the box, but the Japanese striker, unable to keep hold of the ball, it fell to O’Riley again, who rifled past Hemming in the St. Mirren goal in the 20th minute.

For a player who until this season didn’t consistently score goals, he has found his shooting boots this season, and a lot of credit must go to Brendan Rodgers.

The Irishman’s man-management in the past with players like Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling has shown that he can simply make players better with his methods in training and one-to-one management.

O’Riley will command a fee in the summer, with clubs across Europe interested.

He may very well go for a club record transfer fee if Celtic decide to sell, but for now, he continues to impress week in, week out.
