Kyogo Furuhashi will certainly steal the headlines with his brace against Ross County in Dingwall to send the Hoops 18 points clear of Rangers.
However, the Japanese striker credits Alistair Johnston greatly for his sensational assist for Celtic’s opener
With Johnston delivering a perfect cross along the Ross County box to find Kyogo on the move in the middle, the Canadian right-back showcased his familiarity with the Hoops striker’s movement in the final third.
⚽️ “What a ball!”
🏃♂️ “This guy’s movement’s unbelievable”
❌ “No arguments” on penalty

Kyogo, as he so often does in interviews, deflects attention and praise away from himself, criticising his own performance for missing other chances and clearly expressing a desire to improve even further.
Despite those missed opportunities, he was undoubtedly the difference-maker against Don Cowie’s side.
As Johnston highlights, Kyogo’s movement in and around the opposition box is a joy for his teammates, as they know the runs he will make, and if they can find him, it will result in goals.
Put simply, at times Celtic don’t do this enough; however, today they did.
Johnston himself has stepped up a gear this season, providing a consistent threat in the final third with his crosses.
The Canadian has not only become a reliable defender but also a constant problem for the opposition, looking to get up and down the right flank, with much of Celtic’s wide play coming through Johnston, especially with Nicolas Kuhn missing the game through injury.
