The 2022/23 season was a rollercoaster ride for Celtic’s Women’s team. The Ghirls remained tremendous throughout the campaign but painstakingly missed out on the SWPL title on the season’s final day.
Despite this, Fran Alonso’s side still managed a Scottish Cup triumph, defeating arch-rivals Rangers 2-0 in the final. Now, Celtic has brought out a documentary-style video on their YouTube channel, which follows the Ghirls’ season as a whole.

The video has behind-the-scenes clips from the dressing room, exclusive interviews with players, and unique-angle footage from the touchline. The 20-minute-long production is most certainly worth a watch, and it amply displays the highs and lows of a football season. It can be viewed below:
As well as on the park, 2022/23 was a vastly successful campaign for Celtic Women off it. The Ghirls managed to break the attendance record for women’s football in Scotland twice, their prosperity undoubtedly piquing interest in the game.
Here’s hoping the Ghirls can conjure up yet another enthralling campaign in the forthcoming season. The last campaign was a rollercoaster but one which Alonso will look to improve for 2023/24.
