In a riveting evening at the Braehead Arena, Gary Hooper once again displayed his knack for finding the net against Rangers, bagging a double to lead Celtic to a thrilling 3-2 victory in the Master’s Football derby showdown.
Scottish football nostalgia was in the air as fans got the opportunity to watch some of their former stars grace the pitch once more.
Celtic had already kicked off the event with a win, beating Hibernian thanks to a Kris Commons double, while Rangers found themselves stalled in a 2-2 draw against Hearts. Yet all eyes were on the climactic face-off between the two Glasgow giants.
The match began in dramatic fashion with Joe Ledley putting Celtic ahead early on. Rangers, however, clawed their way back, temporarily taking the lead with two quick goals. But it was Hooper who had the last laugh, scoring twice with impeccable finesse to not only regain the lead for the Hoops but also to knock Rangers out of the contest.
