Celtic defensive duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty have formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the Hoops’ defence this season, with the US internationals hailed as Celtic’s American Bhoys.
With Estelle and Kanye West’s 2008 smash hit ‘American Boy’ being one of the most popular and replayed party songs over the last 17 years, Celtic supporters have paid tribute to the duo with a slightly altered version this season.
The Green Brigade debuted the chant in December against St Mirren in a 3-0 win.
The lyrics are:
‘Celtic’s centre backs, oh you should see them play
‘Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty
‘I really want to, win the league with you
‘You’ll be our American Bhoys’
Tributes have further continued, with musician Cole Stacey recently doing a version of the song on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Stacey is set to play at the Old Hairdresser’s on February 23rd in Glasgow, with a very good chance he may play his acoustic version of the popular fan chant again at the gig.
It’s a song that certainly remains popular to this day, and with a Celtic-inspired version, it means that when many Hoops supporters hear the song now, they will immediately think of the strong defensive duo who recently starred last Wednesday against Young Boys at Celtic Park, securing a place in the Champions League knockout playoffs.
