Watch: Celtic Players Land in Japan

CELTIC landed in Japan as they ramp up their pre-season efforts ahead of the new SPFL season.

After a successful week of training, the bhoys left Portugal and will now take on Yokohama and Osaka in the land of the rising sun.

Given the Japanese contingent at Celtic, the bhoys’ trip to the country holds greater significance, and there is excitement from local football fans who get to see some of these players in the flesh in a hoops jersey.

The club’s social media channels have been chronicling the bhoys trip and dropped a video of the Scottish champions arriving in Japan.

They also dropped some images; the players and manager in good spirits ahead of the double header.

Celtic announced the tour back when Ange Postecoglou was still manager. There was an added edge to that homecoming, as Ange would have lined up against his former team and his friend Kevin Muscat when Celtic took on Yokohama.

While that’s not on the cards now, the Japanese bhoys can play on home soil, something I’m sure they will enjoy. More importantly, Brendan Rodgers will see his team come up against some stern opposition and start to make up his mind on who he plans to start the season.
