CELTIC retained the League Cup trophy, defeating their bitter rivals 2-1 at Hampden to secure the silverware.
For the Hoops, it was their sixth League Cup trophy in seven seasons! Not bad at all. During that time, Celtic captain Callum McGregor has been a huge part of the success.
Cal Mac has not lost a final at Hampden at youth or senior level for the club, an incredible statistic for our captain who has rose through the ranks at the club to lead the team out onto the pitch.
It’s why it was rather amusing for Callum when a steward told Callum where to go un order to pick up the League Cup trophy. The camera just about captures the moment when the steward looks to direct McGregor to the Hampden stairs when the midfielder smiles and hilariously points out ‘he’s done this before’. Take a look below.

Cal Mac feeling cheeky after Celtic’s victory.
The Hoops captain has been phenomenal over the years. From breaking into the squad to eventually taking over from legendary captain Scott Brown. McGregor has been a one club man so far in his career and most fans will hope it remains that way.

The bhoys will have enjoyed their night but it’s back to business on Tuesday morning at Lennoxtown. The champions are back in SPFL action on Sunday, taking on St Mirren in Paisley.
