Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi silenced many of his critics on Saturday afternoon with a Glasgow derby goal for the ages. It was a strike that eventually proved to be the difference between the sides.

On the edge of the opposition box, the striker picked up the ball and struck it with his weaker left foot into the top-right corner. Jack Butland had no chance.

The supporters inside Parkhead went into a joint sense of jubilation and shock when the goal went in, and the reaction from one of the boxes in the stadium was particularly pleasing.

Indeed Kyogo’s family were pictured in the stands. The Japanese internationalist waved high up into the crowd when he scored, and it seemed as though he was looking toward his loved ones, who waved back and mimicked his trademark celebration:

For the 28-year-old to have bagged a goal as he did with his family in attendance will have undoubtedly satisfied him. Everyone wants to do their loved ones proud, and the talented centre-forward will be no different.

If Kyogo scores goals like he did against Rangers every time his family are in the ground, it is certain Celtic will be inviting them back to Paradise regularly.
