Celtic were drawn against Highland League opposition Buckie Thistle in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
The bhoys will begin the defence of their trophy against the Scottish minnows at Celtic Park in what will be a massive day for Buckie Thistle.
They have got to this part of the Scottish Cup on merit and their reward is playing in Celtic Park. Gracing the same field as the Celtic stars and following in the footsteps this season of players like Antoine Griezmann and Ciro Immobile.
While we don’t usually take kindly to players celebrating drawing us on the cup, we couldn’t help but raise a smile when a video of the the Buckie Thistle players watching the draw surfaced online.
The players went nuts in a local bar as their name came out the pot next to Celtic’s.
It’s a game Celtic will be expected to win comfortably but these players will be trying to make it uncomfortable as possible for the cup holders.
The money involved in it for Buckie Thistle will be huge to the club and the community. the teams share the gate in the Scottish cup and while it might not be the biggest turn out at Celtic Park, the HCTS should pay dividend for the lower league side.
We look forward to the tie, but Buckie will have to bring their away kit because we’ll be playing in the green and white!
