Virgil van Dijk Re-enacts Famous Celtic Moment at Anfield

Virgil van Dijk was up against the blue side of Glasgow on Tuesday night, Liverpool winning 2-0 on the night at a canter.

The former Celtic star made a name for himself in Glasgow before moving to the Premier League.

Tonight, some Celtic fans were getting a case of deja vu when Virgil inadvertently re-enacted a famous moment during his Celtic career.

Back at Hampden against the same club, Virgil famously left Nicky Law on the ground with minimal fuss during a Celtic win.

On Tuesday night, the big Dutch defender got to play against his old Glasgow foes, and well, he’s only gone and done it again. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Virgil spent two seasons at Celtic, signing for a small fee and being sold to Southampton for what was a record breaking fee at the time.

He would then deliver more cash into the Celtic coffers when the bhoys cashed in on their sell-on clause when Liverpool came knocking.

Since leaving Celtic, the defender has won the Champions league and the EPL. Not bad at all.

Virgil will be back in Glasgow for Matchday four. Funnily enough, he’s never played at Ibrox. The Rangers were in the lower leagues when he was at Celtic and they only met at Hampden
