Celtic’s pursuit of Brazilian Vinicius Souza is by no means at an end. The Hoops have been looking at bringing the defensive midfielder in on loan this summer as they prepare to build a squad for the Champions League.

Souza is high on the list of targets for the Hoops, but a lot of care is being taken by the player and his reps to figure out where he goes next.

Sky Sports is now reporting the City Group have recommended the player join Celtic on loan next season. The Football group own Souza’s current Belgian Club Lommel, and have made their preference known to the player.

However, the same report confirmed Souza’s reps have some reservations about the Scottish football league.

They are leaving it up to the player and his representatives to choose where he goes next and will not put pressure on Vinicius with regards to his summer transfer.

Ajax have shown an interest as of late and could really derail Celtic’s chances of signing the talented midfielder.
