Video: Touching Celtic World Cup Moment Caught Live on BBC

Daizen Maeda scored a first half goal for Japan in their World Cup knockout game against Croatia on Monday afternoon.

Japan took the lead but Croatia would equalise through Perisic in the second half. The game would go through extra time and then penalties.

The Japanese side capitulated on penalties, scoring just one of the four. Daizen was subbed off and wasn’t available for a penalty kick.

It means Croatia go through to the next round. Josip Juranovic is the last Celt standing in the competition.

Instead of going off to celebrate with his Croatian teammates straight away. Josip went over to his upset Celtic teammate Daizen and consoled him after the game. It was a touching moment caught on camera.

Josip will go into the quarter finals with Croatia while Daizen will now take a break before rejoining Celtic later this month.

Three of the four Celts who went to the World Cup have now been elongated. The bhoys are back in action on December 17th against Aberdeen in the SPFL.

Juranovic and Daizen will be missing from that game for sure.
