Video: stand Out Reo Hatate Moment

TUESDAY NIGHT wasn’t to be for Ange Postecoglou and Celtic, after they were beaten 3-0 by arguably the best side in the world.

The pair went toe-to-toe during the first half, with Celtic arguably the better team. The players will be self-critical throughout today, thinking ‘what if’ like many of the supporters.

We can be proud of the players and their performance, especially when guys like Reo Hatate stood out as they did.

The Japanese midfielder was sensational throughout the match and has found his level. After an up-and-down start to life at Celtic, he has shown just how good a player he is and why Ange Postecoglou wanted him in Glasgow.

His general play was up there with the best on the park, he was deep to receive a pass when need be and then he’d sprint up the pitch to get beyond the winger, as Celtic tried to open up the Real Madrid defence.

I mean, just look at this for a pass;

The only complaint about his performance is the player tiring quickly in the second half. However, after the first-half display, not many are focussing on the negative; with a big squad that Celtic have, it isn’t a massive problem.
