Nicolas Kuhn was back in Celtic company this week, making an appearance at the club’s second-last pre-season fixture in Italy.

Before kick-off, he mingled with Celtic supporters who had made the journey and later caught up with Brendan Rodgers and several familiar faces at the interval.
Now turning out for Como, Kuhn has already got minutes under his belt, starting in their 3-1 win over Al-Ahli. That result, combined with Celtic’s heavy defeat, means the two sides won’t meet in the final of the friendly competition.

A potential reunion on the pitch has been ruled out, but Kuhn’s appearance off it made an impression of its own.
He said he knocked on the manager’s office door to thank him directly after the transfer had gone through.
Kuhn’s move to Como was a clear change in his career, reportedly earning Celtic a significant fee, but the way he’s handled the transition shows a level of maturity beyond his years.
His decision to turn up in support of his old team, unprompted and with no fanfare, says plenty about how much the club still means to him.

While the result against Ajax was one to forget, Kuhn’s presence brought a different kind of spotlight.
From making his mark in Glasgow to becoming a £17 million Serie A player, his path has moved fast. But his return this week offered a reminder that the connection with Celtic remains strong, both on his side and from the support.
