Marcelo Saracchi has reportedly been spotted leaving Argentina, with the Boca Juniors left-back now heading for London to complete his medical before finalising a move to Celtic.
The agreement contains no option to buy, with Boca keen to retain control over the Uruguayan’s long-term future.
Simply put, this is a move about depth and reliability. Kieran Tierney’s workload must be carefully managed, and Hayato Inamura is nowhere near trusted to carry the load.

Rodgers needed someone he could slot in without fuss. Saracchi brings that, with top-level experience across South America and Europe, including stints at Leipzig and Salzburg.
With Michel-Ange Balikwisha also due in Glasgow on Wednesday, Celtic’s transfer window has finally found some urgency. Saracchi’s flight to London signals the final step before the Uruguayan links up with Rodgers’ squad.

Provided the medical clears without issue, both new arrivals should be paraded in Glasgow by midweek.
It’s been a frustrating summer for supporters, but these deals show movement at last. Rodgers has been crying out for reinforcements. Now, it looks like he’s about to get them.
