Celtic winger Daizen Maeda reacted to his hat-trick this evening against Raith Rovers, securing a place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
Celtic skipper Callum McGregor joined Daizen Maeda for the post-match interview. Maeda’s hat-trick takes him to 50 goals for Celtic and 21 for the season.

With just under half of his Celtic goals coming this season, Maeda picked up where he left off on Wednesday night against Dundee, scoring a brace. He went one step further today against Barry Robson’s side with a hat-trick.
Given his undeniable success at Celtic over two and a half seasons, Maeda has taken his game up a gear this season, scoring more consistently and adding assists. This has made him a real contender not only for Celtic’s Player of the Year but also for Scottish Player of the Year.
What makes it even more incredible is that, over the past week, he has played on the left wing against Motherwell, the right wing against Dundee, and as a striker today.

McGregor is right to highlight the level Maeda has reached this season, with Brendan Rodgers clearly improving him as a player over the last 18 months.
With nine changes made ahead of today’s game, everyone played their part in the win, but ultimately, Maeda will steal the headlines with yet another Man of the Match performance.
He has been a vital part of Celtic’s starting XI since his arrival. However, with Kyogo recently leaving, his role in the team has become even more crucial, offering greater versatility and an increased attacking threat compared to previous seasons.
