Video: Kasper Dolberg’s Low-Key First Taste of Celtic

As Celtic push to bring Kasper Dolberg to Glasgow before Monday’s transfer deadline, some of you may not know he has come up against Celtic before in his career. Not only that, but he has scored against the Hoops.

The Denmark international lined up for Nice back in the summer of 2020, during the disrupted Covid-19 pre-season. Celtic travelled to France to play a series of friendlies behind closed doors, and Dolberg made his mark by hitting the net against Neil Lennon’s side.

The goal was very well taken and put past Scott Bain after weaving through the defence. Patryk Klimala scored for Celtic in a game which ended 1-1.

Kasper Dolberg at a glance.

  • Full Name: Kasper Dolberg Rasmussen

  • Date of Birth: 6 October 1997

  • Height: ~1.87 m (6’1½”)

  • Position: Centre‑forward (primarily)

  • Current Club: RSC Anderlecht (Belgian Pro League), since July 2023 under contract until June 2027
  • Named Belgian Player of the Month in November 2024 after scoring 12 goals in six domestic matches, including two hat-tricks

  • Scored four goals in a single match against Gent during the 2025 playoff phase

Dolberg, 27, has since gone on to play in Spain and Belgium, with a CV that includes Champions League experience and a proven eye for goal. His pedigree is not in question — it’s whether Celtic can get a deal done before the clock runs out.

The Hoops’ need for another striker is obvious. Adam Idah’s situation remains uncertain, and Brendan Rodgers has been clear that nobody will be allowed to leave the frontline unless a replacement is secured. Dolberg is one of the names at the forefront of that search.

Watch Dolberg Score Against Celtic

Talks with Anderlecht are continuing, and with the transfer window closing on Monday night, Celtic must move quickly. We already know that nobody can be registered for the game this weekend, so if Dolberg does come in, he will have to wait for his first taste of the Glasgow derby.

Supporters will be asking the question: having scored against Celtic once, could Dolberg soon be scoring for them instead?
