It was a brilliant strike, and a brilliant reaction from the striker, but maybe his initial thoughts were ‘Oh no! No man of the match for me tonight!’

Hatate looks to be a brilliant player, as do all of Ange’s signings so far. The midfielder is energetic, has a good passing range, is switched on defensively and tonight he showed he can strike a ball, and do that very well.

The squad is in a great place at the moment. The mentality is great, but so is the personnel. Once we have our players back, Postecoglou will have major selection problems – who will make up his midfield three?

The quality is oozing out of the squad and Postecoglou will still have plans to add to it in the coming transfer windows.
