Reo Hatate showed a touch of class to bring the Hoops level against Spain’s Athletic Club.
Celtic found themselves trailing barely a minute into the match, as the visitors from Bilbao managed to find the back of the net. However, Hatate, showcasing his talents, orchestrated an impressive response from the Bhoys, after probably being at fault for the visitor’s opener.

Hatate struck the ball from the edge of the box using his weaker foot. The shot, placed low, managed to beat the Athletic keeper and find its way into the net. The Celtic crowd roared in approval, celebrating the equaliser and Hatate’s determination.
Unfortunately, the Celtic joy was short-lived, as Athletic Club quickly regained their lead, making it 2-1 shortly after kick-off.
Reo Hatate’s goal, however brief the levelling moment it provided, remains a highlight, demonstrating the Japanese player’s growing influence in the Celtic squad. As the game unfolds, fans will be hopeful for more such moments.
