Celtic have had to take their lumps after the weekend, losing to their rivals and not playing well at all.
The bhoys lost 3-0 on the day with Carl Starfelt the only survivor of Celtic’s usual back four.
It was a sore one on the day but as the disappointment from one day in the season dissipates, we enter the part of the season where we could secure more history with an eighth treble!
The hysteria across the city over the win when it meant absolutely nothing in the context of the season has been incredible. Fireworks could be heard in some parts of Glasgow on Sunday after the result and the bravado from a club the Hoops have beaten 4 times this season is quite a thing to behold.
When we were diving through the archives for something completely different this week, we came across a media clip from 2019.
Ryan Christie was in front of the cameras after Rangers beat Celtic 2-0 when the league was already gone for them. Asked about the noise coming from Ibrox in the aftermath of that game, his reply could be plucked out from four years ago and slotted right into this week!
It’s a brilliant clip and something Celtic fans had a good laugh at back when Christie said it.
Fast forward to now, we have the same nonsense, and the same scenario. Celtic are about to lift the league title, and have the chance at a treble in the cup final.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
