CELTIC STAR Giorgos Giakouamkis has received an award in his hometown to recognise his achievements over the past few years.
The Greek striker had been impressive, ending his season as the Eredivisie top scorer before transferring to Scotland to become the top scorer there also. Scotland’s achievement was brilliant; up until the winter break, Giorgos had only netted the ball once, so to be at the top of the scoring charts at the end of the season is impressive.

Giakoumkais was presented the award by his Grandfather. It was an emotional event.

The award was handed to him by his proud grandpa, Giorgos Giakoumakis, and this probably the cutest video you'll see today. pic.twitter.com/vm8mVCpfKM

He’s just finished a successful international campaign, with Greece winning all their Nations League matches. Of course, he also scored that world-class header.
Gearing up for the Champions League
Next season, Giakouamkis will be playing Champions League football with Celtic. A starting spot is still up for grabs, especially if he starts the new season in the same form he ended last season in.
