There has been a lot of talk over a potential penalty kick for Dundee Utd at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon.
The two teams played out a draw in the end but many pundits and Dundee Utd fans claim the away side should have had a penalty but Kevin Clancy waved it away.
At the time, from my spot at Celtic Park, it did look like a penalty and in isolation, I believe it was a penalty. However, if you look at the entirety of the build up there’s no way the ball should have been allowed into the box in the first place.

Carl Starfelt clearly gets checked in the build up and is fouled before Dundee Utd go through on goal.
We just ignoring Starfelt being fouled in the build up here then. https://t.co/IaR5f0WQI4

Had the referee been doing his job properly, Celtic would have had a free-kick just outside their own area.
It’s clearly been overlooked so a narrative can be spun. Steven Naismith was speaking on Sportscene about the incident and claimed it was a stonewall penalty.
Celtic have to go back to the drawing board and Ange Postecoglou has to get a reaction out of his players in the next few days or this season could go from bad to worse.
