Celtic have officially confirmed the return of Kieran Tierney to Parkhead, with the club unveiling the Scotland international on social media on Tuesday.

The announcement marks a homecoming for the 28-year-old, who came through the ranks at Lennoxtown and made over 170 appearances for the Hoops before a record-breaking £25 million move to Arsenal in 2019. After six years away, including a loan spell at Real Sociedad, Tierney is back where it all began.

The club had previously disclosed the deal in a financial statement to stakeholders, noting a pre-contract agreement was in place, but had remained quiet on their official channels, until now.
Tierney’s return will be welcomed by the Celtic support, especially after Greg Taylor’s likely departure this week. His experience, energy, and familiarity with the demands of playing at Parkhead will give Brendan Rodgers a proven performer in the left-back role.
Celtic fans will be hoping Tierney can quickly get back to his best and help drive the team forward in Europe and domestically next season. He is expected to report for pre-season training next month, ahead of friendlies against Queen’s Park, Cork City, Sporting CP and in the Como Cup.
