Ange Postecoglou told Luke Darcy on his ‘Empowering leaders’ podcast that he tends to take a step back from training and allow his coaches to implement the orders he gives them.
The Australian doesn’t want to look like he’s playing favourites or give any player preferential face time on the training field, he can hang back and allow the coaches he trusts to convey his message.
It’s not that Ange is non-existent on the training ground, he believes his style of management can bring the best out in players and that means not getting too close at times.

Celtic has come a long way in just a year under the Australian coach. Ange took a team on its knees and made the league and cup champions in his inaugural season.

People expect Celtic to be in the conversation when it comes to titles but such was the size of the rebuild not much gave us a chance. Some had Celtic finishing THIRD! Celtic fans were willing to give Ange a settling-in year as long as we could see the improvements. Instead, the manager delivered our title back.
However he’s going about things on the training ground, it’s working!
